I need help to break my Verizon Contract.?

Well, I was offered a Verizon Mobile connection from my friend. He has a connection and offered me another line in his account. And by the way I didn't even ask him for a favor, I told him I liked the looks of his phone. I love the connection, its great, but the thing I hate the most is the way my friend who is 60 plus years old takes an authority over me when the bill comes in. He calls me up and talks to me like I have to listen to him. I don't like to treated that way. He lives in America and his ancestors were British. So I guess he has a Brit attitude. I wana break the contract and have my own connection as I feel its a damn hasle to hear from him like as though I am someone who doenst pay his bills. I have paid every bill on time and I hate it when he takes authority like hes doing a big favor for me. What do I do? How do I tell him this? Its a 2 year contract and its the 10th month of the 24th month contract.
