Tell me.. is taking out the trash too much to ask of a grown adult!?

Ok, so I simply asked my husband to take out the trash and to fix the bed. Nothing more. The cat litter needs to be changed, the bathroom needs to be cleaned, laundry needs to be folded, toys have to be picked up, son needs to be bathed, dishes have to be put away, unpacking still has to be done, and the list goes on and on... well I asked nothing more to take out the trash because I don't really have the time to being that I can't leave my son alone in the apartment to take the trash out during the day. Well, he makes this big deal over it, rolls his eyes and says that I'm being b*tchy about it which was only because he had to change the tires on his bike, dirty up the kitchen I just cleaned, and decided to go play in the bedroom all while I am trying to watch our sick son while working on a midterm. Really, was that necessary? I mean I could've asked for him to do a number of other things but I didn't. I don't understand! Are grown men just incompetent in household cleaning?
