Cortazone in shoulder?

i had cortazone injected into my shoulder because it clicks and a joint moves forward when this happens. i had it yesterday and i am in more pain then before and i cant lift it cos its too painfull. the doctor said it would be sore for the first day or two, but surely not this sore? im going to have another one in 6 weeks time (this is instead of an operation, but he said i might still have one if i really want) has anyone expierenced this? and would you have another injection or ask for an op to sort it out
